This is another slightly more successful version of the differently-colored men and women series. He’s all red-orange; she’s all blue-purple. Her coloring is quite bit more complex than his. I think that it’s a bit odd how much space there is between them… feels pretty standoffish, unconnected. Though she is titled toward him and looking at him, while he inclines away and stares off.
This one started with the ink drawing, then a light orange/yellow/ochre watercolor wash. Then I used a lot of opaque watercolor to build up the colors.
I actually mis-dated this one… I corrected it from March to May. Fascinating, no?
