Well, I can’t take all the credit for this one, which arrived in the mail this morning. It was actually designed by my virtual friend Michelle Matthews, whose website has lots of cool photos, and who seems to share my infatuation with urbanite – which some people would merely call broken concrete.
Matthews used my drawing/illustration of the 1932 Sixth Street Bridge over the Los Angeles River, which she found in my book Down by the Los Angeles River. The invitation is for a fundraiser for Cornerstone Theater Company‘s annual fundraising dinner, coincidentally honoring my friend and cicLAvia collaborator Aaron Paley of Community Arts Resources. Cornerstone is a great group which you should all support by attending this fundraiser dinner. I had the opportunity to act in their Touch the Water play last summer, including helping paint this car on the set.
