Art Opening 15 July 2012 at Barbara Mendes Gallery

Hey fans, art world investors, and other followers!!! At long last I’m going to have another art show. The show is called Country and City – Art by Rick Cummings and Joe Linton. The opening will be Sunday July 15th 2012 from 3pm to 7pm. The show runs July 12th 2012 through August 15th 2012 at the Barbara Mendes Gallery at 2701 South Robertson Boulevard in Los Angeles 90034.

The gallery is on the east edge of West L.A. – not far from Culver City – fairly easy walk or bike distance from the Metro Expo Line Culver City Station. (Take the train to the end of the line, cross Venice Blvd, and continue walking north on National then on to Robertson.) Gallery hours are Sunday through Thursday 12noon-7pm – or by appointment if you email barbaramendes [at]

Invitation for upcoming art show featuring yours truly

Above is the official invitation! You can rsvp and share the event via Facebook, too.

If you haven’t seen Rick Cummings’ work, it’s clever, funny, playful, irreverent. Here’s a sample:

Yearbook Memories – painting by Rick Cummings

See more of Rick’s work at his website, his facebook page – and at the Barbara Mendes Gallery in a couple weeks!!

Speaking of the Barbara Mendes Gallery – plan to also check out Mendes’ beautiful art work. I wrote about her and her work here – she’s a former underground comic book artist now a painter, rooted in some comics visuals and a whole great magical language she’s honed. Her work is all really beautiful stuff. Below is just one I really dig.

Angels and Moms – painting by Barbara Mendes

Her gallery is hard to miss – with all kinds of great murals welcoming folks in.

The one and only Barbara Mendes Gallery – 2701 South Robertson Boulevard

Check out more of Barbara Mendes’ work at her website.

Below is my silly version of the invitation!

Send this won to youre coolest cat friendz!

See you at the opening on Sunday July 15th 2012!
