My wife and I attended tonight’s free Suzanne Vega concert at Madison Square Park in New York City. I was a really big fan of Suzanne Vega back in the 1980s, and really liked her later album with a more industrial beat-heavy sound – including songs 99.9 degrees and Blood Makes Noise… and I hadn’t heard anything from her in a while… so it was a treat to sit about 60′ away on a beautiful summer night and hear her deliver a great set.

The drawing is quick. I wanted to use a brush pen, but I couldn’t find it, so I scrambled with my uniball pen. There are some issues with scale (Vega looks like a giant) but I was working fast directly in pen, so it happens. Overall I like it well enough to share here.
